asphalt street overlay in 2009
City's Public Works Department evaluates streets for type and extent of
pavement distresses. These distresses are analyzed by a software program
that gives each street a Pavement Quality Index rating in the good,
fair, or poor range.
A street in the good range indicates some maintenance, such as seal
coating, is required. A street in the fair range indicates a need for
rehabilitation methods such as overlay, curb replacement, etc. A street
in the poor range indicates a need for major rehabilitation or asphalt
overlay.
The City had 1.46 miles of city streets overlaid this year, they are as
follows:
- East Main - East Kelly to East Clement
- Valley Street - Main to 7th Street
- Carter Street - Deno to Pratt Street
- Second Street - St Louis to Vineland School Road
- Fletcher Street - Main Street to 5th Street
- Public Works Drive
- Miller Street - 3rd Street to Main Street Alley
- Lueking Drive - Rock Road to Amvets Drive
Public Works Personnel will be installing asphalt curbing on the
following streets:
- Fillmore Street to Clement Street
- Stone Street - 5th to 4th Street
