The Fleet Maintenance Division increases productivity and curbs costs by using the most efficient resources to keep the Citys fleet in a constant state of repair to provide safe and reliable vehicles and equipment.
The Fleet
Maintenance Division is performed by a
person who manages the maintenance,
repair of City vehicles and heavy
equipment assigned to the Citys fleet,
which also includes Fire Department
vehicles.
With more than 24 vehicles and equipment
that must be maintained, the Division
utilizes a new computer program to be
more efficient, perform preventative
maintenance schedules to extend
longevity and improve performance, as
well as safety levels.
A variety
of equipment is now being used in the
maintenance shop to perform regular and
preventative maintenance. The City
installed a vehicle lift in the main bay
of the new public works building which
was constructed in 2005 and diagnostic
equipment which was purchased in 2006 used to diagnose malfunctions of
vehicles and equipment that are not
easily detectable to the naked eye.
