The Communications division of the De Soto Police
Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365
days a year. The Communications center is
responsible for receiving all 911 calls from landline
phones within the City limits of De Soto. The
Communications Center dispatches police from the De Soto
Police Department to calls for service and 911 calls
related to EMS and Fire are transferred immediately to
Jeffco 911 so as
the appropriate equipment can be dispatched.
The Communications Center also functions as the after
hours Public Works center. Efforts are coordinated
through the Communications Center to provide any after
hours services related to Public Works or any other
issues related to the City of De Soto. The
Communications Center has the ability to contact the
appropriate resource regardless of the incident.
The Communications Center is also responsible for
activating the Emergency Early Warning System. In
the event of severe weather or other emergencies the
Communications Center can activate the sirens with the
press of a button to warn our citizens of impending
weather or other emergencies. The sirens are
tested monthly to be sure they are in working order.
