Below is a list of common questions that may save you time in the future when doing business with the De Soto Police Department.  If your question is not listed then please do not hesitate to contact the De Soto Police Department at (636)586-8891.

Does the De Soto Police Department do records checks for jobs, etc?

No, records checks must be completed at the Sheriff's Office.

Where do I go to get an ex parte (Restraining Order)?

You must go to the Court House in Jefferson County to get an ex parte.

What are visiting hours for your jail facility?

Visiting hours are on Sunday and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM.  We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes early.  You are required to present a drivers license or State I.D. card prior to visiting.  No children under 17 will be allowed to visit anyone held in our facility.  In most cases prisoners are allowed one visitor and visits usually last 10 minutes.

I think I have warrants, what should I do?

If you think that you have warrants you should go to your local law enforcement agency and turn yourself in.  This way you can avoid the embarrassment of Police showing up at your home or work.  Law Enforcement Agencies will not tell you over the phone if you have a warrant for your arrest.
