Spross Park Improvements
The public works personnel have made great strides in making many improvements in Spross Park.
The park now includes new sidewalks and pedestrian bridges which are wheel chair accessible, and the new parking area for the community and visitors which also has Handicap/Van Accessible parking. Residents and
visitors now can enjoy a solid path leading from the parking lot to the pavilion and play equipment in the park.

In addition to the structural work for improved access in the park, enhancements of the landscape have been made as well, and will continue in the future. Our goal is to bring out the sheer beauty in Spross Park and have future recreation activities for our children and adults.  The City parks is an integral component of our community providing numerous recreation opportunities that help to improve the quality of life for us all.

The following is a list of park improvements that was promised and which has been performed in 2007:

  • As promised city public works personnel installed a new concrete surface on the basketball court for kids and adults to use as part of their recreation, the new surface will bring many more years of enjoyment for the community and visitors.

  • Additional Landscaping throughout the park was done with money from businesses of the community.

  • A grant has made it possible for the city personnel to install a new playground area at the top of Spross park. This play area is enclosed with a 4 foot chain link fence to help protect the children from wondering off, and  the play area is covered with a blue color rubber mulch which helps reduce injuries from a fall in addition, Mike Hite of our building division created the new pavilion which can be used for the community, efforts from all areas of the city personnel has made this park even more beautiful.
